Sprint's Technology Summit

Yesterday Sprint put on a technology summit outlining their plans for all things Sprint in 2007 and beyond. Sprint released the branding of the new 4G service, as outlined in a previous post and provided some upcoming devices for those present to see and touch. Sorry no pictures were allowed. Gearlog has a great write up by Sascha Segan you need to read. I'm surprised they didn't have any Wi-MAX devices on display, but I am interested in the Palm device. Below is a picture of the GSM version of the HTC Touch now available. PCMag has a good review of it.

Samsung's Yepp YP-P2 touchscreen DAP with Bluetooth

Here's another new device from Samsung. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this with XOHM service in 2008. It'll be even cooler if it has CDMA for voice and XOHM for data. It never hurts to dream. Check out the review at dapreview which includes a video.

Sprint's Mobile Wi-MAX Has It's New Brand

Sprint's new 4G network that has a cost of around $3 billion is getting more and more press as we get closer to the trial launches in October. This new 4G network utilizes Mobile Wi-Max technology and the branding was officially launched today. Check out the website.

More 4G - Another mobile WiMax Device

Samsung unveiled the latest in mobile convergence device, the SPH-P9000 Deluxe MITs at Mobile WiMAX Summit 2006. The SPH-P9000 is a PDA-based device utilizing Mobile WiMAX and CDMA EV-DO connectivity. The SPH-P9000 comes with a QWERTY keyboard and it runs Windows XP with a 1GHz CPU, a 30GB hard disk, 256MB of RAM, a 5-inch WVGA display. It has also a 1.3 Megapixel camera and it weighs only 580g.
This is not a new device, or story this was released in late 2006, but it's been awhile since I have seen it on any of the other gadget boards so I thought I'd give it some love. Check out the original article from itechnews.net. And note the other links at the end of the article.

Mobile WiMAX Devices

Samsung SPH-M8100 is a PPC runs Windows mobile 5 PPC Phone Edition. It supports the Mobile WiMax(IEEE 802.1E) and CDMA 200 1XEV-DO and the T-BMD Mobile TV. THe phone features a 2Megapixel camera, a 65k color TFT screen, media player, Bluetooth wih A2DP, 128MB ROM / 64MB RAM, a MMC card slot and Microsoft document viewing and editing. First Announced Device for Sprint mobile WiMAX
